It's Christmas Eve 2008
the time of year when the kids just can't wait!
Fun time with family, presents and lots of good food. . .
Oh no, the flu bug has landed on the brood!
Planned travels come to a halt,
between sickness and winter storms it's simply no body's fault.
The prime rib sits in the frig till all are well,
and tonight's plan B? Mr. Z's wish. . . Taco Bell!
I continue with laundry and midnight calls from the hall,
and the hope that tomorrow all will be standing tall.
In all things give thanks is our motto this year,
even with these disappointments we have lots of reason to cheer.
So we'll focus on that and remember what the Bible does say. . .
Rejoice! God sent us His Son on that very first Christmas day!
