Our God of Details

We are traveling this week to be with extended family in a neighboring state. A few of the kids wondered about our Christmas traditions (those specifically food related - I do have 5 boys! LOL!) and if they would still take place since we will be out of town. Good Question, I thought to myself. Well let's see. . . we have Chinese take out food as a treat on Christmas eve, then there is the special egg bake for Christmas Day, along with homemade cinnamon rolls and lastly, the birthday cake for Jesus.

Now listen to how the God who created the universe. . . the God who sent His son to die for us. . . the God who defeated death, rose again and sits on the throne of heaven, took care of our simple little traditions which seem to matter so much:

On Saturday night. . . as we were getting packed to leave on our road trip we received a call from our neighbor who had some goodies to bring our way. (We have great neighbors, huh?) Come on over! We're always ready for a treat! And you know what she had made? A big platter of homemade cinnamon rolls!

On Sunday. . . we stopped to see family who live along the path of our road trip. Guess where they asked us to meet them for lunch? The Chinese Buffet! Perfect.

On Monday. . . guess what my mom served for breakfast? Our favorite egg bake casserole!

Plans for Christmas day with my sister and family?. . Include the kids decorating their own birthday cakes for Jesus and singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus, just like we wanted.

Got Godbumps?

Matthew 6:25 "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you be worrying can add a single hour to his life?"

May you see God's love for you in the details of this Christmas week.
Happy Monday before Christmas!

Heather
