Interviews

I thought this was sooo cute when I read it on Life with my 3Boybarians.

I thought I'd try it.

This is my interview with:
(each separately)

11 year-old Mr. Z,
7 year old Mr. H.,
4 year old Mr. A. and
9 year old Mr. C. . . .

1. What is something mom always says to you?

"I love you."
"Go on a time out."
"Ummm, I love you. and I need to train you."
"Ummm, do your chore, ummm, no TV"

2. What makes mom happy?

"When no one fights."
"To do my schoolwork and not disobey you."
"Me saying, I love you, Mom"
"When we do something for her when she doesn't know it and we surprise her."

3. What makes mom sad?

"When people do fight."
"Me getting into a fight and hitting someone"
"Not talking nicely."
"When we don't do something right on school and she get's frustrated."

4. How does your mom make you laugh?

"By being sarcastic."
"By tickling me."
" Ummmm, nothing. Tickle me, but I'm real ticklish when dad tickles me."
"uhhhh, when she does something like is funny on TV"

5. What was your mom like as a child?

"Messy."
"She went to school & lived in CA."
"You liked playing with your trains and playing with someone your age."
"I dont' know!"

6. How old is your mom?

"Uh, let's see. . . . 41? No. . . definitely 40!"
"43?"
"Ohhh, 25!"
"40."

7. How tall is your mom?

6 feet, 8". . .wait, No you're not that tall. . . 5'11".
"I don't know that one!"
"7, 8, 9, 10?"
"Oh, I know. . . 5'11."

8. What is her favorite thing to do?

"Blog".
"Go out to Chinese food with dad without the kids."
Ummmm, let's see. . . . go on the computer and do stuff?"
"Ummm, be on her blog."

9. What does your mom do when you're not around?

"She takes a nap."
"Just sits around and does my dishwasher job and stuff."
"You watch TV when I'm outside."
"Ummm, go do her blog."

10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?"

"A singer."
"Playing tennis."
"What does that mean?"
"mmmmm, cooking."

11. What is your mom really good at?

"Typing."
"Taking dad out to eat."
"Ummm, mmmm. . . writing stuff on the computer that you want to say."
"Designing things."

12. What is your mom not very good at?

"Singing. . . no, I'm just kidding, uhhhh. . hunting."
"Playing UNO"
" Building an airplane."
"Ummmm not yelling and getting frustrated."

13. What does your mom do for a job?

"Uhhh, for a job? She cleans the house."
"Do schoolwork."
"You like help someone up when someone pushed them on the ground."
"She's our teacher."

14. What is your mom's favorite food?

"Chinese".
"Chinese."
"Pasta."
"Ummm Chinese."

15. What makes you proud of your mom?

"Being my mom."
Nothing really. . . ok here's one-- I'm proud at you that you're my mom." "
Ummm, oh I know, saying I love you to me."
"She umm, teaches us, she's a good mom and teaches us how to behave."

16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?

"Superwoman!"
"Mickey Mouse"
"I want you to be Spiderman. . . a girl pink Spiderman!!!!"
"Ummm, that spy girl."

17. What do you and your mom do together?

"Uh, we clean the house and do school and cook."
"School".
"We, ummm, we play games sometimes."
"Cook things."

18. How are you and your mom the same?

"We both like a clean house.
" We aren't. . .me and my dad are the same.
"We aren't."
"We both like to cook."

19. How are you and your mom different?

"I hunt. She doesn't"
"She's a girl and I'm a boy. . and she's my mom"
"Cause God made you be bigger than me and you're a girl and I'm a boy."
"She doesn't like having video games and I do."

20. How do you know your mom loves you?

"Cause she says it."
"Cause she's my mom."
"Cause you are bigger than me and you are an adult."
"mmm, by staying home and teaching us."

21. What does your mom like most about your dad?

"He's handsome."
Because he believes in Jesus."
"Hmmmmm you like kissing each other. HAHAHA"
"That he can pick up a job really quick when he lost one."

22. Where is your mom's favorite place to go?

"On dates with dad."
"Chinese."
"Chinese. McDonald's and Culvers"
"Ummmm, it's hard because you like to go so many places. . . out to eat."

Well, there you have it.

A dose of (humbling) reality from my kids perspective. . . from our house to yours.

  5. This is a very cute idea. I wonder what my "boys" would say. They are quite a bit older :)

  6. I love the picture of your family on your header. We must have the same barber! :)

    your blog is great. I especially like the snowflakes - since I'm in FL and it's in the 70's today, windows open, breeze blowing - perfect for Saturday yardwork. Unfortunately, if this is what it's like now - at the end of winter - we probably have a hot spring coming, then a horrid summer!
